The Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi announced the launch of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 in China few days ago. The smartphone is the successor of Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. For the launch of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, company has experimented with giving the device a premium look with a metal body while keeping the price of the phone aggressive. Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 vs. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
To begin with the design of the phone, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 was an all plastic device with round edges. However, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is an all metal device with rounded edges as well. The speaker grill has not lost its location, and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features similar kind of speaker grill at the bottom of the phone. The camera module placement and the LED flash placement has also remained same in the successor.
However, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features a fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone which can be spotted below the camera unit. And this is the first thing you would notice while comparing these two devices at first.
Apart from this, other specifications in the devices are almost same. Starting with the processor, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and the Note 3 features the MediaTek Helio X10 64-bit processor with the same Mali GPU.
Both the device also packs a 5.5-inch Full HD display of 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. There is a 13-megapixel rear camera unit on both of the phones and a 5-megapixle front facing camera unit at the front of the devices.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 comes with 2GB of RAM, but the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes with 2GB and 3GB variant. Both the smartphones are available in 16GB and 32GB of internal storage variants. However, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 lacks the micro SD card slot for memory expansion.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note sports a 3060 mAh battery and measures 8.3 mm thick and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 packs a 4000 mAh battery and measures 8.65 mm thick. Both the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and the Note 3 has been priced similarly and is currently available in China only.
