Meizu MX5 Review: Meizu has officially announced its flagship smartphone Meizu MX5 in India recently. The smartphone went on sale through flash sale and as expected it was out of stock soon after the sale begin. This is normal with the smartphones, which are put on sale through flash sale. They go out of stock as soon as the sale begins. Maybe the company keeps limited amount stocks, just to keep the buzz ON about the devices in the market.
Nevertheless, the Meizu MX5 was launched as exclusive to Snapdeal, the Indian online retailer. The smartphone has been priced at Rs 19990 and comes in grey color. For the given price tag, the smartphone offers, good set of specifications. How much good? Let’s find out.
The Meizu MX5 features a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with 10000:1 contrast ratio and Wide Angle View. It allows you to see vivid picture and crystal clear text on your display.
Under the hood, it has been powered by a 2.2 GHz Octacore MediaTek Helio X10 Turbo processor with inbuilt graphics chip. The processor has been backed by 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM. For storage needs it comes with 16GB of internal storage, but misses out at micro SD card slot.
The Meizu MX5 measures 7.6 mm thick and weighs around 149 grams including a 3150 mAh battery. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with Flyme 4.5.
Connectivity on the phone is covered by 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0 and GPS. There is a micro USB port for data transfer.
Company has equipped the phone with a 20.7 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5MP front facing camera for video calling needs. Other features in the phone includes Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor, Compass, Gyro Sensor, Fingerprint Identity Sensor etc. The rear camera unit is capable of recording full HD videos at 30fps.
The Meizu MX5 comes equipped with a brand new fingerprint identification system named as mTouch 2.0. It makes identification faster and allows you to perform various tasks on the phone apart from unlocking your phone.
