Logitech has recently released their G613 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard which features Logitech Romer-G Switches, Full-Size Form Factor, 6 Macro Keys, a 10 Key N-Key Rollover, and Media Keys. Here is a review of the keyboard with emphasis on all its features.
Wireless Technology & Mechanical Switches?
These don’t really go together – those who buy mechanical keyboards don’t want the extra cost of wireless technology as they are more interested in clicky switches, quality build and maybe RGB. They want ZERO input lag while typing, while most wireless keyboard users are okay with it.
But the G613 appeals to both audiences and Logitech says this keyboard is a ‘blissful relief from the gimmick heavy keyboard market of 2017’. It does not have any RGB Backlighting and a USB Passthrough though, because those features hinder wireless connection quality & battery life. The only LEDs present on the keyboard are the Caps-Lock & Battery Level Indicators.
The G613 uses Romer-G Mechanical Switches which offer an incredible feel, precise, quiet switches with a 70 Million Click Life. They hence have incredible durability (something Logitech is very famous for). They are 25% faster than standard mechanical switches with their short-throw actuation set at 1.5mm.
For Wireless Technology, the G613 uses Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED Wireless Technology which gives an insane battery life of 18 months and great wireless performance with 1 ms report rate. It also has Bluetooth for connecting it to Mobile Phones, Tablets, and other devices.
Here are the specificaitons of the Romer-G Mechanical Switches
6 Programmable G-Keys
Six dedicated Macro Keys are present on the G613, which can be programmed with the Logitech Gaming Software. They allow for executing complex actions which require multiple keys to be pressed simply and quickly.
They can have different profiles for different applications & games as well.
