After two months of global launch , LG showcased its new G Flex in India. Don’t be excited , it’s not going to hit the markets very soon(Feb 2014).G Flex is India’s first curved smartphone and LG’s too. Yeah Curved !
G Flex is a curved smartphone to which LG is calling “something revolutionary”. Hearing “Curved smartphone” first thing comes in mind is Samsung Galaxy Round which also had curved display. But in case of G Flex not only the display but whole body is flexible. By flexible i mean you just have to hold the phone in your hands and rest of adjusting part is done by the G Flex. Not only the hand , place near your ear and you will find the lower receiver closer to your mouth (which may give a bit clear way to your voice). LG claims that G Flex can stand 40 kg of weight on it.Put G Flex on a table and press it ,you will find that it restores its original shape in no time. With is one thing is clear that we don’t have to babysit our phone. Quite impressive huh ?
Well G Flex is not that impressive as it seems. This smartphone secured a place in giant phones category (6 inch) i.e sadly it will not fit in your pockets unless you are wearing a cargo.Volume adjustment and power buttons are at the rear part . Most importantly LG has implemented G2’s Knock On functionality-just double tap the display to sleep and double tap to wake it up.But G Flex’s Knock On lacks performance. Now lets find out what secrets “The G Flex ” holds .
G Flex features a 6 inch (720p)HD with curved P-OLED display. This screen is highly responsive and this giant phone is powered with 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm SnapDragon 800 processor. It comes with 2 Gb RAM.The audio is good (not that much impressive). The phone has 13 MP rear Camera and 1.2 MP front camera. It is loaded with Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and it weighs only 177 grams. It comes in Titan Silver Color.
Now comes all about battery, after hearing that it can reform its shape question was whether the battery is reliable or not?
LG stated that the curved battery in the G Flex is designed such that it reduces the physical stress on the battery pack when in the curved form and provides better stability and performance .The battery has a capacity of 3,500mAh. G Flex includes a new feature(of course to LG phones) named “Dual Window” that lets you use two apps at the same time. All you have to do is to touch and hold the back button to use the Dual Window feature.
If you are looking forward to buy this gigantic flexible phone then you must start saving your pocket money hard. Because this giant comes with an expensive deal.LG says the price may range from Rs 60,000 to Rs 65,000.
