After the success of Lenovo A6000 Plus, Lenovo announced the launch of its new Android-powered smartphone the Lenovo Vibe P1m. The phone was supposed to be a mid-ranger with a big battery backup. The company has placed a massive 3900 mAh battery on the phone that gives more than a day usage even if you are a power user.
Apart from the massive battery, the Lenovo Vibe P1m has been packed with a 5-inch HD IPS display. The display looks great and pictures are clear. Under the hood, it comes packed with 2GB of RM, and 16GB of internal storage. The memory can be further expandable using the microSD card slot. If you want more space, you can plug in your Flash drive using the USB OTG cable. At the back, the Lenovo Vibe P1m comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front facing the camera. The rear camera supports LED flash at the box. The phone has been powered by a MediaTek quad-core processor with Mali GPU for gaming needs.
The Lenovo Vibe P1m has received good reviews from the buyers. However, the phone is making quite a buzz in its official forums. But, for the wrong reasons. The Lenovo Vibe P1m has some issues as reported by the users that could be frustrating. Not every buyer face these Lenovo Vibe P1m common problems, but for the people who are facing some issues with their Lenovo Vibe P1m, here are some fixes. As always the annoying issues are related to the software of the phone rather than being a hardware related issues. It can be both good and bad. Good is, you don’t have to send your phone for repair and the bad is you don’t know when Lenovo will be releasing the software update to fix the issues.
Some of the common Lenovo Vibe P1m issues are WiFi problem, battery draining issues, the battery is not charging, file manager problem, problem while uploading files to Google drive, etc. So, let;s have a look at the common issues and fixes for Lenovo Vibe P1m.
1 – Fix WiFi Not Connecting Lenovo Vibe P1m and Data Not Connecting Issue
A common Lenovo Vibe P1m related issue reported by the user is the WiFi not connecting issues. So, you have WiFi connectivity enabled, your other WiFi devices get connected to the WiFi network, and you can access the internet on them. But, if you connect the Lenovo Vibe P1m to WiFi, you won’t be able to access the internet though you have connected to the WiFi.
To fix this issue, do the following:
- A Restart – A Quick restart can resolve the WiFi Issue in Lenovo Vibe P1m. So, restart your phone and connect to the WiFi again. If it is a temporary problem, you should be able to fix the issue with this.
- Forget and Reconnect – If the issue persists, try to delete the current network from your smartphone. Search for the available WiFi Hotspot and try to connect to it. Try to access the internet and see if the error has gone away.
Not working? Check if the Lenovo Vibe P1m has any pending update available. Go to Software and check for the update. If not, wait for the next update from the Lenovo.
2 – Fix for Lenovo Vibe P1m OTA Update Failed
If you were trying to upgrade your Lenovo Vibe P1m to the latest version, then you may get an OTA update failed error.
This is how the error will look like:
Opening update package... Installing update... Verifying current system... "/system/lib/libandroid_runtime.so" has unexpected contents. update.zip is not correct Installation aborted.
This seems to be an issue with the OTA update itself. The only solution to this problem is to get a new software update released by Lenovo. Lenovo has released a new OTA update that doesn’t have the same issue, and you should be able to upgrade to the latest version. If you don’t see the latest update for the device, wait for a while and then update.
3 – Fix for Lenovo Vibe P1m Slow Charging Issue
Another issue with the Lenovo Vibe P1m reported by the users is that their phone takes a hell lot of time to charge. Some have reported that the phone takes more than 7 hours. This is a strange issue as the Lenovo Vibe P1m comes with fast charging feature.
The problem seems to occur if you have a problem with the power adapter and data cable. Make sure that you have plugged the adapter and the USB cable properly. Check some other power outlets. If possible, check with another power adapter. Completely plug in the USB data cable while charging your phone.
