After the success of Lenovo A6000 Plus, Lenovo announced the launch of its new Android-powered smartphone the Lenovo Vibe P1m. The phone was supposed to be a mid-ranger with a big battery backup. The company has placed a massive 3900 mAh battery on the phone that gives more than a day usage even if you are a power user.
Apart from the massive battery, the Lenovo Vibe P1m has been packed with a 5-inch HD IPS display. The display looks great and pictures are clear. Under the hood, it comes packed with 2GB of RM, and 16GB of internal storage. The memory can be further expandable using the microSD card slot. If you want more space, you can plug in your Flash drive using the USB OTG cable. At the back, the Lenovo Vibe P1m comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front facing the camera. The rear camera supports LED flash at the box. The phone has been powered by a MediaTek quad-core processor with Mali GPU for gaming needs.
The Lenovo Vibe P1m has received good reviews from the buyers. However, the phone is making quite a buzz in its official forums. But, for the wrong reasons. The Lenovo Vibe P1m has some issues as reported by the users that could be frustrating. Not every buyer face these Lenovo Vibe P1m common problems, but for the people who are facing some issues with their Lenovo Vibe P1m, here are some fixes. In this post, I will be showing you Lenovo Vibe P1m common issues i.e heating issues, touch issues, battery drain, WiFi issues etc and fixes.
Lenovo Vibe P1m Common Issues and Fixes : Check Below
As always the annoying issues are related to the software of the phone rather than being a hardware related issues. It can be both good and bad. Good is, you don’t have to send your phone for repair and the bad is you don’t know when Lenovo will be releasing the software update to fix the issues.
Some of the common Lenovo Vibe P1m issues are WiFi problem, battery draining issues, the battery is not charging, file manager problem, problem while uploading files to Google drive, etc. So, let;s have a look at the common issues and fixes for Lenovo Vibe P1m.
1 – Fix WiFi Not Connecting Lenovo Vibe P1m and Data Not Connecting Issue
A common Lenovo Vibe P1m related issue reported by the user is the WiFi not connecting issues. So, you have WiFi connectivity enabled, your other WiFi devices get connected to the WiFi network, and you can access the internet on them. But, if you connect the Lenovo Vibe P1m to WiFi, you won’t be able to access the internet though you have connected to the WiFi.
To fix this issue, do the following:
- A Restart – A Quick restart can resolve the WiFi Issue in Lenovo Vibe P1m. So, restart your phone and connect to the WiFi again. If it is a temporary problem, you should be able to fix the issue with this.
- Forget and Reconnect – If the issue persists, try to delete the current network from your smartphone. Search for the available WiFi Hotspot and try to connect to it. Try to access the internet and see if the error has gone away.
Not working? Check if the Lenovo Vibe P1m has any pending update available. Go to Software and check for the update. If not, wait for the next update from the Lenovo.
2 – Fix for Lenovo Vibe P1m OTA Update Failed
If you were trying to upgrade your Lenovo Vibe P1m to the latest version, then you may get an OTA update failed error.
This is how the error will look like:
Opening update package... Installing update... Verifying current system... "/system/lib/libandroid_runtime.so" has unexpected contents. update.zip is not correct Installation aborted.
This seems to be an issue with the OTA update itself. The only solution to this problem is to get a new software update released by Lenovo. Lenovo has released a new OTA update that doesn’t have the same issue, and you should be able to upgrade to the latest version. If you don’t see the latest update for the device, wait for a while and then update.
3 – Fix for Lenovo Vibe P1m Slow Charging Issue
Another issue with the Lenovo Vibe P1m reported by the users is that their phone takes a hell lot of time to charge. Some have reported that the phone takes more than 7 hours. This is a strange issue as the Lenovo Vibe P1m comes with fast charging feature.
The problem seems to occur if you have a problem with the power adapter and data cable. Make sure that you have plugged the adapter and the USB cable properly. Check some other power outlets. If possible, check with another power adapter. Completely plug in the USB data cable while charging your phone.

I purchased Lenovo Vibe P1M on Flipkart on Dec 22, 2015 and received the same on Dec 24, 2015. Once the battery reaches below 20%, it drains rapidly; may be within a minute it says ‘mobile will be switched off in XX seconds’. Even it does not provide sufficient time to ‘Clear All’ apps running in the background. This has happened twice so far. What is the cause and is there any solution for this issue?

This must be a software related problem. Check if you have any software update pending. If so, update your phone. Such problesm are usually fixed with a sooftware update.

Hi. I have that from one forum..it works very well. But you need to be patient and try this trick.
Go to notifications panel- on /off flashlight, press that button quickly, flash will be bright after few attempts (10-20) (use this only in low light atmosphere)

I keep my phone ringtone to max and it reduces the ringtone volume by 30% automatically whenever i keep it inside my pocket, this really annoys me since i missed few calls by not hearing the tone properly,
Internet connection is intermittent during roaming, i have to enable airplane on and off often to make it work properly, again this is one such pain in the a to get going when im in a roaming location and need of internet immediately.
Airtel network and this phone is the worst combination ever and gives the most of it’s trouble seeking the network.
whenever i answer call using headphone the call gets disconnected if it is in pocket and touches our skin accidentally, screen is that sensitive,

I faced the same issue with Lenovo vibe P1. After the upgrade from Lollipop to Marshmallow, the contacts, call logs and messages were not responding. When opened, it will show a blank screen with Loading… message. But nothing gets loaded. Also Power Manager was not working. I did a factory reset and it helped out to over come the issue.

Hi vinuchandra , i also have the same problem. First goto setting then security then apps with usage access and off the engineer mode and device service. By doing this your problem willbe solved.

I have purchced My lenovo p1m in. Jan- 27. my mobile is hanging when I playing games and working apps. Its very slow process. How to I solve this problem. Also I iam using the latest software.
It’s a crap phone. I just bought it after looking at the specs.
Flash light turns on automatically and i cannot switch it off easily. Most of the times i need to reboot device. This happens even when the screen is locked.
Doesn’t show 2G network. I celebrate whenever it shows 2G network which is with my post paid vodafone connection. I also use idea sim to connect to 3G, but network goes off sometimes. and comes back at same location. I never had this problem when i was using Lumia 640 which was broken unfortunately.
I bought Lenovo vibe p1m in January via flipkart. Around May mid, an apps update was done with WiFi. Then sometime it is fully draining. Previously I charge once in a day or once in two days. Now I have to charge it twice a day. If I didn’t charge for 18 to 20 Hours battery draining to zero within seconds if it is at 84%, 48%, or 38%. I don’t know what happened to it.
Another issue is if I put it into AC charging it starts to discharging. If I switched off it gets charged normally. After some time of charging in switched off mode then I switch on, no problem it charging usual. I think this is not the problem of charger. I am using charger which came with phone.
Any body can give suggestions to overcome these issues. The battery is not possible to replace in vibe p1m, right?

my lenovo vibe p1m is draining fast, i bought it on 14/06/2016. now m charging it twice a day, m not using anything expect whatsapp. last night it was 81% but at morning i found it decreased by 9%(72%). i havent installed any apps. i have another phone, m just using this phon for whatsapp only. help me….

From settings on the phone l put mine on ascend for incoming calls now l want to reverse it to ring normally but cannot find that function in the settings, its like it disappeared! Also when l turn the data off it comes on by its self. I also have the issue of the flashlight coming on without activation and the phone freezes sometimes too.
