Gigabyte has released a graphics card focused entirely on mining cryptocurrencies. The name for the GPU is P104-400 and it’s based on Pascal Architecture by NVIDIA. Most P104-100 GPUs have a 8GB (8192MB) of GDDR5X Memory, but this GPU by Gigabyte has a cut down 4GB of GDDR5X Memory.
Dedicated Mining Graphics Cards have a limited feature set & shorter warranty (of 3 years) compared to normal gaming oriented GPUs. Benefits are that they have lower power usage compared to Gaming GPUs (because of the removed components not required for mining), and lower pricing.
These GPUs are perfect for cryptocurrency miners (those who provide computer processing power for processing of cryptocurrency transactions like Bitcoins, Ethereum, etc.), as profit is the most important part of mining.
PRICE – Unknown, but $360 for the MSI Variant so we can expect it to be around $300 (Source – BitcoinTalk Forums)
Mining Performance
Here is the mining performance of the P104-100 compared with other GPUs, including AMD RX Series famous for their mining efficiency.
But don’t judge the mining performance of the RX Series based on this, it’s way better with the BLOCKCHAIN Driver and ETH vBIOS installed.

Specifications, Design & Cooling
The P104-100 4GB Mining processor sports a CUDA Core Count of 1920, same as a GTX 1070. The Memory Bandwidth is 256 GB/s, which is 64 GB/s less than the GTX 1070.
Base Clock Speed is set at 1607MHz, and the boost clock is 1733MHz. The GPU uses a single 8-pin power connector, and has a TDP Rating of 180W to 225W.
In terms of design & cooling, it’s cooled by 3 WindForce branded Gigabyte Fans, very similar to those found on a Gigabyte GTX 1080 WindForce.
There is no backplate and no video outputs as well on this graphics card, as it’s use is to mine cryptocurrencies.
Here’s a chart comparing the P104-100 Mining GPU against the GTX 1080, 1070 Ti, 1070 and 1060.
