Yesterday I installed Microsoft Windows 8.1 Professional x64 bit OS on my new Desktop PC and it was the first time i was installing a clean fresh copy of Windows 8.1 on a new system though I have been using Windows 8.1 on my HP Envy laptop for a long time since its release and have fair idea about Windows 8.1 operations and functionalities therefore i went on with installing Windows 8.1 Professional. After complete successful installation I found a very annoying watermark “SecureBoot isn’t configured correctly Build 9600” displayed on the screen and after trying different windows options and changing bios settings i was still not able to fix the issue until i found a working fix after searching over internet.
This error “SecureBoot isn’t configured correctly Build 9600” is usually faced by users who have installed a clean copy of Windows 8.1 or upgraded to Windows 8.1 from previous OS Versions where SecureBoot provides an edge over normal security of Windows by providing advanced security settings that prevents unauthorized software’s from execution.
Though you must keep in mind that this feature can be used only if it is supported by your BIOS and facing “SecureBoot isn’t configured correctly” is an indication that SecureBoot is disabled from BIOS Settings but it has been observed that even after enabling SecureBoot in BIOS settings “SecureBoot isn’t configured correctly Build 9600” is not removed therefore to remove it you need to download Microsoft hotfix “KB2902864” update that you can download from below given links.
